Project: residencia miramar

Miramar residence is a family house located in the south of the area of Algarve in Portugal. The surrounding landscape is of singular beauty offering stunning views to the Atlantic ocean and the hilly surroundings of a preserved area.

Leticia and Joe have purchased the house a couple of years ago and moved to the property with their three children in search for a new life. We discussed the project in detail and our aim was to maximise the space adding a kitchen and an extra bedroom. The area also needed to be compartmentalise without compromising the open plan feature, interrupted view to the sea and the amazing natural light. That aside the house was in a great need of renovation throughout, we have offered a sustainable insulation method using cork to improve the house thermal balance during the winter.

The result was extremely satisfying Leticia and Joe and I had targeted meetings discussing the project in detail working closely to their budget and designing to prioritise the main needs of the property.
